Day 59 – July 1 - La Pointe du Raz
The Stranger (Or: When the universe chooses for me)
There were two things I had known from the very beginning of the journey: that I would reach Pointe du Raz, and that a photograph was waiting for me there to be taken.
When I arrived toward evening, the cafés in the tourist area were about to close.
I improvised a dinner for myself and walked to the other side of the site, past the monument, slightly to the left—south of the rocks stretching westward into the ocean.
The sun would set in about an hour.
I sat down with my camera and waited.
First, the clouds arrived and settled low.
Then, as the sun approached the horizon and painted everything red and yellow, a small group of people appeared and stood on the rocks.
And then, with perfect timing, the stranger stepped away from the group, climbed down slightly onto just the right rock, and looked toward the sunset at just the right angle.
